[ui!]uk is tackling greenwashing with standardised reporting in open formats and public data platforms

In their report to COP27 the High-Level Expert Group on the Net Zero Emissions Commitments of Non-State Entities recommended that “non-state actors must report in a standardised, open format and via public platforms that feed into the UNFCCC Global Climate Action Portal to address data gaps, inconsistencies and inaccessibility that slow climate action.”

In the UK we are working with an international bank and a leading local authority to deliver end to end, real-time reporting of climate challenge data to prevent greenwashing of environmental societal and governance targets, addressing in-project climate impacts and giving residents proper insights.

The result will be a globally available product for cities and businesses to work with commercial investors to ensure real climate challenges are addressed. And that will mean that greenwashing cannot happen.
